Christian Somogyi
Christian has been fishing the local rivers since the early nineties for trout and salmon. He started his guiding career at the Upper Pitt River Lodge back in 2003. Christian enjoys fly fishing but will use any technique to catch fish, and has used them all in his fishing adventures. His favorite waters are the Pitt River and Skagit River.
The Whore House
Hook: Mustad 34007 size 4- 3/0
Thread: 6/0 Black
Tail: Blue Buck tail or Polar Bear
Body: Black UV Polar Chenille
Eyes: small Aluminum sea eyes or bead chain eyes
Wing: Ostrich Herl, 4-8 strands of Lady Amherst over top
Flash: 4 Pieces of Pearl Krinkle Flash and 4 Strands of Purple Holographic Flash
Stinger Material: Stren Microfuse 30lb braid
Head: Peacock Herl
Note: When tying in the stinger material make sure to put the material through the eye of the hook and double it under the shank of the hook and tye it down to ensure that a large fish won’t be able to pull it off. It is important to use the lightest weight metal eyes you can find, lead eyes are too heavy and rob the fly of its movement in the water, which is what makes this a very effective fly.
