A man was treated Tuesday in a medical clinic in eastern Newfoundland after he was shot during a hunting trip.
The man, who is in his 30s, was near Bellevue Tuesday morning with two hunting companions when a bullet fired by one of his friends struck him. "From what we understand, the round passed through the wrist, just above the
hand, and is lodged somewhere in the torso area down around the abdomen area," Cpl. Kelly Bryan, the RCMP detachment commander in Placentia. While the RCMP have opened an investigation, police believe the shooting was an act of carelessness. The men called for help, and an ambulance was waiting for the wounded hunter
by the time they made it out of the woods.
